Published on: January 12, 2010
Winder-Barrow Community Theatre is proud to announce the cast of the upcoming presentation of “Harvey” by Mary Chase. “Harvey”, the first show of the 2010 Season, will run for two weekends, February 26 – 28 and March 5 – 7, 2010, with the Friday and Saturday night shows at 7:30 pm, and the Sunday matinees at 3:00 pm at the Colleen O. Williams Theater inside the Winder Cultural Arts Center. Tickets are available now at Winder City Hall at 770-867-3106 and at Pam Veader’s State Farm Insurance Office at 41 S. Center Street in Winder (770-867-1679). Advance Tickets are less expensive than at the door so be sure to purchase your tickets early. Adults are only $12.50, and Seniors (55 and older), students & teachers are $10.00.
“Harvey” is a comedy that will be enjoyed by everyone. In this show, Elwood P. Dowd (Tery Overbey) introduces everybody to his imaginary friend, Harvey, a 6 ½ foot tall rabbit. His sister, Veta (Elinor Hasty), decides that she has had as much as she can tolerate and decides to have Elwood committed to a sanitarium. Problems arise, however, when Veta herself is mistakenly assumed to be on the verge of lunacy when she explains to doctors that years of living with Elwood’s hallucination have caused her to see Harvey as well. Plan now to come and see the show for a great evening of entertainment.
Season Tickets are still on sale up until “Harvey” opens. Season tickets give you five tickets to use during the year and include all four of the Main Stage shows as well as a 5th show of your choice. Purchase season tickets at both ticket locations. Adults are $50 and seniors/students/teachers are $40 for the 5 shows.
